Sunny news from the beach! Tijmen Companjen and Mila Jonker have been running The Beach Volleyball School in Scheveningen for years. Now they are expanding their activities on the beach with a new company, Barefoot Beach Camps, which offers beach volleyball trips to perfection.

Their love for our sport shines through, which makes us very enthusiastic. And that enthusiasm is mutual, because Tijmen and Mila have signed up Barefoot Beach Camps as a Friend of the Volleyball Newspaper.

Jonker: ,,We think it is important for (beach) volleyball that a place like Volleybalkrant continues to exist. Wonderful things are happening in our sport and there are fantastic people walking around with great stories. It's important that media like Volleyball Newspaper continue to tell those stories. We know how much passion and energy it takes to keep this site at this level for so many years. That's why we're happy to contribute a little bit."

We speak to this passionate couple further about their activities, always with sand between their toes and preferably with the sun in the background.

Companjen: ,,In recent years, Mila and I have been to the most beautiful beaches and met a lot of cool beachers from all over the world. We are also going to bring that experience through our trips with Barefoot Beach Camps. It's not just beach volleyball, but a lifestyle.'' Jonker adds: ,,That relaxed mindset can also be seen in everyone who travels with us. It is training, but afterwards it is also chilling at the beach bar while a DJ plays records. It's enjoying beach life together, the ultimate vacation for everyone who loves beaching."

Starting April 21, Tijmen and Mila can be found at Sunsation Beach in Spain with their Barefoot Beach Camps, preparing for the beach season together with hundreds of other beachers from all over Europe (and beyond). And maybe even with you! ,,We train there with all different nationalities mixed together, with coaches who play in the World Tour. Very cool. After such a week full of beach volleyball, you're ready to bang on the Dutch beaches again!"
